Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Melt butter in an 8-inch baking pan.
  3. Remove 2 tablespoons of the butter and place in a mixing bowl.
  4. Add the brown sugar to the pan abd stir until disolved.
  5. Arrange apples over the brown sugar.
  6. Sprinkle with walnuts.
  7. Add eggs, granulated sugar, and milk to the bowl with the 2 tablespoons butter.
  8. Mix in the salt and baking powder, then add the flour, mixing until smooth.
  9. Pour batter over the apples.
  10. Bake for 35 minutes.
  11. Loosen cake from sides of pan with spatula and invert onto a serving platter.
  12. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
