Cranberry Sauce-whole berry

Ingredients:

  • 1 (12 oz) bag cranberries, rinsed and picked through
  • 1/2-1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 tsp fresh orange zest
  • 3/4-1 cup sugar
  • 1 (8 oz) can pineapple tidbits, drained or 1 (8 oz) can juice, to complement orange juice (just watch your sugar if you do)
  • cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan combine the cranberries and 1/2 cup orange juice.
  2. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring often.
  3. You will want most if not all of the berries popped.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes more.
  5. Taste and adjust sugar if needed.
  6. Add a little cinnamon if you like.
