Batter Dipped Catfish Nuggets

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs catfish nuggets
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne

Directions:

  1. Scramble the egg in a large bowl then whisk in the buttermilk follow by the rest of the ingredients, except fish.
  2. Heat 2-3 inches of oil in a large frying pan until hot. Dip the nuggets into the batter so they are coated then gently drop into the hot oil. Fry for 5-7 minutes, until golden brown & crispy.
  3. Repeat until all the fish is fried. Place the fried fish onto a paper towel lined plate to drain excess oil.
