Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter

Directions:

  1. Filling:.
  2. Peel, core & slice apples.
  3. Stir sugar, spices & cornstarch together.
  4. Toss apple slices in sugar mixture.
  5. Arrange apple slices in pie shell.
  6. Pour any remaining sugar mixture over apples.
  7. Topping:.
  8. Mix sugar, cinnamon & flour.
  9. Cut in butter. (It should be lumpy.).
  10. Sprinkle over apples.
  11. Bake 400 degrees for 40 minutes.
