Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375F and grease a 8x4x2 loaf pan.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Combine the egg, milk, butter, and almond extract in a separate bowl.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing just until moistened (do not overmix).
  5. Stir in chopped almonds and cranberries.
  6. Spread batter in loaf pan and then sprinkle with additional 1 tbls. sugar and then the slivered or sliced almonds.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. REDUCE heat to 350F and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Let cool 10-15 minutes before removing from pan to wire rack.
