Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups milk

Directions:

  1. Place flour in a large mixing bowl. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Gradually add milk, stirring until flour mixture is moistened.
  2. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead 4 to 5 times.
  3. Roll dough to 3/4-inch thickness; cut with a 3-inch biscuit cutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
