Ingredients:

  • 2 pints oysters
  • 1/4 lb butter
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 quart half and half

Directions:

  1. Saute butter, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce (5 minutes or so)
  2. Add oysters to garlic butter, cook over medium head until oysters are opaque
  3. Add half and half, simmer over medium heat for 5-10 minutes. Add more half and half if you think it is needed. Also add more Worcestershire if you think it is needed.
  4. At this point, you can serve. However, it is better to let the stew sit for a couple of hours, and then reheat before serving.
  5. You can substitute whole milk for the half-and-half if desired.
