Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Directions:

  1. Cream together shortening and brown sugar until light.
  2. Beat in egg and molasses.
  3. Sift together flour, salt, cinnamon, soda, and ginger, in seperate bowl or on wax paper.
  4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stir until well mixed.
  5. Fold in cherries and raisins.
  6. Drop onto greased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake 350 degreesF.
  8. For 10-12 minutes.
