Ingredients:

  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 cup butter or 1 cup lard, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Put molasses and ginger in a bowl, add melted butter and sugar, then egg and warm water; sift flour and baking soda and salt; work it into the other ingredients.
  2. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick, and cut in rounds.
  3. Place on parchment lined baking sheets.
  4. Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
