Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp cocoa
  • 1-1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1-1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Directions:

  1. Cream Butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in vanilla and eggs.
  3. Add molasses and blend.
  4. In another bowl,combine flour,cocoa,cinnamon,ginger,nutmeg,baking powder,and soda.
  5. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture alternately with the buttermilk,beating well after each addition.
  6. Pour batter into well greased bundt pan.
  7. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 40 minutes(or)until toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool for 30 minutes,turn out onto rack to cool.
  9. Serve with hot applesauce in which red hot candies have been melted into.
