Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 lb butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts

Directions:

  1. In heavy gauge large saucepan, Bring first 4 ingredients to boil on highest heat and keep there, stirring constantly (NO plastic spoons!) until mixture turns the desired 'brown' (I like Heath Bar color). Pour onto greased cookie sheet (with sides). Let cool a couple of minutes and put choc. chips on top, let them melt and spread out. Press chopped or ground nuts onto chocolate. When completely cool, use sharp tip of knife to break into pieces. Store in air-tight container w/ wax paper or foil in between layers.
