MMMM ! English Toffee !

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 12 pecan halves

Directions:

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  2. Add sugar, salt and vanilla.
  3. Boil gently several minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Until it reaches 300 degrees on a candy thermometer.
  4. Arrange 1 cup pecans on 8 inch square pan.
  5. Pour the boiled mixture over top and spread to cover evenly.
  6. Let toffee set up for 15minutes until slightly firm but still VERY warm.
  7. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and allow them to melt completely.
  8. Gently Spread chocolate to cover completely.
  9. Arrange pecan halves over top.
  10. Cool to set.
  11. Drizzle with melted white chocolate and let cool completely.
  12. Break into chunks to serve.
