Ingredients:

  • 1 cup. raisins
  • 2 cup. water
  • 1 cup. sugar
  • 2 heaping tsp. shortening
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cup. sifted flour
  • 1 cup. nutmeats

Directions:

  1. Cook raisins in water until 1 cup of water remains. Add soda to water, set aside. Combine flour and sugar, add shortening, spices, nutmeats and raisins including water. Bake at ~350 until cake shrinks from sides of pan.
