Candied Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Peel potatoes and cut into chunks.
  2. Place potatoes in 13x9 baking pan.
  3. In lg saucepan combine remaining ingredients.
  4. Bring to a boil.
  5. Boil for 2 minutes; pour over potatoes.
  6. Cover and bake for 45 minutes.
