Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf french bread
  • 1 quart milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2-1 cup butter or 1/2-1 cup margarine
  • 2 oz bourbon (or to taste)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees.
  2. Soak bread in milk.
  3. Add eggs, sugar, vanilla, raisins and mix well.
  4. Pour margarine in bottom of heavy 9x14 baking pan.
  5. Add bread mixture and bake til firm about 40 minutes.
  6. Cool.
  7. Cube it and place in individual dessert dishes.
  8. When ready to serve add Whiskey Sauce and heat under broiler for a few minutes.
  9. -WhiskeySauce-.
  10. Cream sugar and margarine and cook in a dble boiler until very hot and dissolved.
  11. Add beaten egg and whip very fast so egg doesn't curdle.
  12. Cool and add Whiskey.
