Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 pints beer
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp each salt and nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Add water to beer, bring to a soft boil, season with salt and nutmeg to desired taste.
  2. Beat egg whites until they peak. Set to one side.
  3. Beat egg yolks well with sugar and flour. Add milk, stir until smooth.
  4. Mix egg yolks, flour, sugar, and milk mixture to beer mixture, bring almost to a boil.
  5. Fold in egg whites and serve at once on toasted bread crumbs.
