Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp. vinegar
  • confectioner's sugar for dusting

Directions:

  1. Mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, salt, and baking soda
  2. Pour water, oil, vanilla, vinegar over dry ingredients
  3. (I put water in measuring cup, then add oil till it reaches 2 3/4 cup mark, then add vanilla and vinegar.)
  4. Mix thoroughly with spoon, but don't beat
  5. Pour into 9 x 13 baking dish
  6. Bake at 350* F for approximately 50 minutes
  7. Dust with confectioner's sugar (optional)
