  2. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
  3. For thinner dip, add milk by teaspoons.
  4. Garnish with fresh snipped parsely.
  5. Blue-cheese sour cream dip:
  6. Subsitute blue cheese for cheddar cheese.
  7. Dried beef-sour cream dip:
  8. Omit cheese and salt.
  9. Mix in 3 ounces dried beef, snipped.
  10. Red bean-sour cream dip:
  11. Omit cheese.
  12. Mix in 10 ounces of drained kidney beans and 6 slices crisply fried bacon crumbles.
