Sweet Onion Kielbasa

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb kielbasa
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 (12 oz) can beer (darker gives more flavor)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 -3 tbsp spicy mustard
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper or 1/2 tsp chili powder or 1/2 tsp favorite spices , to taste

Directions:

  1. Slice kielbasa into 1/2-inch pieces.
  2. In a large skillet, bring 1/2 can of beer to a slow boil and add kielbasa.
  3. Cook until the beer is reduced by half, then add the remaining 6 ounces of beer.
  4. Add honey and mustard, and spices to taste.
  5. Let simmer for 5 minutes or until sauce reaches a thick, honey-like consistency.
  6. Saute onion in butter until onions are transparent.
  7. Onions may be mixed into the finished sauce, or added as a garnish.
