Stuffed Bell Peppers Italiano

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet saute onions and garlic in oil for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef and cook for 10 minutes breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon.
  3. Drain oil.
  4. Stir in cooked rice.
  5. Sprinkle in oregano, salt and pepper.
  6. Add ONE can of tomato sauce.
  7. Sprinkle in around 1/4 of the mozzarella cheese.
  8. Cook stirring until cheese is melted.
  9. Place the peppers in a large steamer and cook until tender.
  10. Stuff each pepper with hamburger mixture.
  11. Put some tomato sauce at the bottom of a large baking dish and arrange peppers standing up.
  12. Pour remaining sauce and water over the peppers and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  13. Bake in 350 degree oven until cheese is melted.
  14. Serve with garlic bread and parmesan cheese, if desired.
