Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp chipotle chiles , with 1 tsp of the liquid pepper added also
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 1/2 cups whole almonds

Directions:

  1. Combine the first 3 ingredients in medium pan.
  2. Cook over medium heat till sugar dissolves, stirring often.
  3. Stir in nuts.
  4. Spread coated nuts into jellyroll pan.
  5. Bake 300F for 20 minutes.
  6. Stir and bake 10-15 minutes more.
  7. Spread warm nuts onto foil or parchment paper; separate with a fork.
  8. Lightly sprinkle with salt.
  9. Cool before serving.
  10. Store nuts between layers of parchment paper or wax paper in airtight container up to 3 days.
