Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Grease 9-inch pan.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt.
  3. Cook over medium heat until mixture begins to boil, continue cooking, without stirring, to softball stage (234 degrees F.).
  4. Remove from heat, and cool to 110 degrees F.
  5. Beat in vanilla, nuts, and candied cherries until thick.
  6. Pour into prepared pan.
  7. Cool till firm.
  8. Cut into 1/2-inch squares.
