Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups oats
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • cooking spray

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Spray 9x13-inch pan.
  3. Cream sugar and shortening at medium speed of mixer until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add maple syrup, vanilla extract and eggs; beat until well blended.
  5. Combine the oats and next 4 ingredients; stir well.
  6. Add to the creamed mixture, stirring just until the dry ingredients are moistened.
  7. Pour the batter into pan.
  8. Bake for 40 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
