Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 3 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs.
  2. In a small bowl, mix baking soda, cream of tartar, vanilla and evaporated milk.
  3. Add small bowl contents to creamed contents.
  4. Sift flour into mix and combine.
  5. Chill.
  6. Roll out on floured board.
  7. Cut out cookies with cookie cutters.
  8. Place on greased cookie sheet.
  9. Bake at 400 for 8-12 minutes.
  10. Use butter cream frosting to ice.
