Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 3/4 cup milk + 1/4 cup ( reserved)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter and add the oats. Stir for 2
  2. Minutes to toast. Add the boiling water and reduce heat to a simmer.
  3. Keep at a low simmer for 25 minutes, without stirring.
  4. Combine 3/4 cup of milk with the oatmeal. Stir
  5. Gently to combine and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Spoon into a
  6. Serving bowl and top with remaining milk, brown sugar, and
  7. Cinnamon.
  8. Sometimes I mix it up with dried or fresh fruit and a touch of maple syrup or a dollop of honey.
