Brown Sugar Pound Cake

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 1 lb light brown sugar , plus
  • 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F Grease and flour a 10 inch tube or Bundt pan In a small bowl combine flour and baking powder and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl with an electric beater on high speed cream brown sugar and butter.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  4. On low speed add flour mixture and milk until well blended.
  5. Pour batter into pan.
  6. Bake 1 1/2 hours.
  7. Remove pan to cooling rack and let sit for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove cake from pan and cool completely.
  9. Combine confectioners sugar and milk.
  10. Drizzle over cooled cake Sprinkle w/ pecans.
