Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter, eggs, baking soda, cream of tartar, salt and vanilla.
  2. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often.till well mixed.about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in nuts.
  4. Divide dough in half -
  5. Shape each half into a 12x2 roll.
  6. Wrap in waxed paper.refrigerate till firm.at least 2 hours.or overnight.
  7. Preheat oven to 350*.
  8. Cut rolls into 1/4 slices.
  9. Place 1 apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  10. Bake 9-12 minutes or light golden brown.
  11. Remove from sheets immediately -
  12. Cool on wire racks completely.
