Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/8 tsp almond essence
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder

Directions:

  1. Cream the butter and sugar and beat the egg in it
  2. Mix sifted flour, baking powder and coarsely grounded peeled almonds
  3. Knead into smooth dough. Chill until firm
  4. Cut about two dozen slices with the help of the cutter and bake in the oven at 350 degrees F until golden brown in color
  5. Cool serve at tea.
