Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Gease and flour 2 8 or 9 cake pans.
  3. Mix together first 5 ingredients and set aside. (Dry ingredients)
  4. Gradually mix together remaining (wet) ingredients Then combine dry and wet mixing until just blended.
  5. Pour batter evenly into cake pans.
  6. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or nearly clean.
  7. Allow cake to cool in pans 10 minutes before transfer to cooling racks. Allow cakes to cool entirely before frosting.
  8. Buttercream Frosting
  9. Combine sugar, softened butter and vanilla. Add milk as needed until desired consistency is reached.
