Sheila's (tolerable) Brussels Sprouts

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp parsley

Directions:

  1. Wash and trim brussels sprouts.
  2. Cook (uncovered) until tender.
  3. Saute onion in butter until soft, but not brown.
  4. Stir in flour, salt, sugar and mustard.
  5. Add milk and cook slowly until thickened.
  6. Blend in sour cream.
  7. Add sprouts and heat through.
  8. Sprinkle with parsley.
