Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 lb sweet butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh sesame seeds

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375. Butter two baking sheets. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. With an electric mixer on low, add butter until blended. Whisk together the eggs, zest and vanilla and add this to the flour mixture and continue beating on low until a smooth dough is formed.
  2. Pinch off a small pice of dough about the size of a small golf ball and roll it into a log about 2 inches long. Roll the log into the fresh sesame seeds, pressing them lightly to stick. Place the cookie on prepared baking sheets and continue forming the remaining cookies the same way, keeping 2 inches of space between each cookie. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and you can store in an airtight container.
