Savory Casserole Bread

Ingredients:

  • 4 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 package. yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp cold water

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. Grease a 2 quart casserole
  3. Mix 2 cups flour,sugar,salt, spices and yeast. set aside
  4. Heat milk , water and butter to 120 degrees
  5. Add to flour mixture
  6. Let rise till double
  7. Punch down and let rice again until doubled
  8. Whip egg white and water
  9. Brush on top of loaf and sprinkle with course salt
  10. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes.
  11. Remove from casserole and cool on rack.
  12. ENJOY
