Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2-1 cup nuts, chopped

Directions:

  1. Beat together shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla until creamy.
  2. Add combined remaining ingredients; mix well.
  3. Add raisins, nuts or even chocolate chips at the end.
  4. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
