Orange Ginger Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tsp orange
  • 2 tsp molasses or 2 tsp dark corn syrup
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp clove
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Cream together butter and sugar.
  2. Add egg and mix well.
  3. Add grated peel and molasses and mix again.
  4. Stir together dry ingredients and add to butter mixture, stirring well.
  5. Wrap up dough and chill for several hours or overnight.
  6. Roll dough very thin and cut out cookies with cookie cutters.
  7. Bake on greased cookie sheets at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes.
