Ingredients:

  • crust
  • 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup. sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups. all-purpose flour
  • topping
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup. sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup. chopped pecans

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. CRUST
  3. Cream butter and sugar until well-blended.
  4. Add egg yolk and mix well.
  5. Add flour and mix just until dough is formed.
  6. Pat dough into a 9x13-inch pan, making a 1-inch border up the sides. Bake 15-18 minutes.
  7. TOPPING
  8. Whisk together thoroughly sugar and eggs.
  9. Whisk in maple syrup.
  10. Scatter pecans over crust
  11. Pour syrup mixture over crust and scattered pecans
  12. Bake 25-30 minutes until set.
  13. Cool, cut into bars
