Mary's No Fuss Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2/3 cup coffee, cold

Directions:

  1. Mix together flour, cornstarch, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Make 3 wells in the dry ingredients.
  3. Pour vanilla, vegetable oil, and vinegar in separate holes.
  4. Pour cold water and coffee over all.
  5. Whisk until smooth.
  6. Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 50 minutes.
  8. Test center for doneness.
