Ingredients:

  • 2 cups tomato juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp celery salt
  • 1/8 tsp paprika
  • 6 whole cloves

Directions:

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the first eight ingredients. Place cloves on a double thickness of cheesecloth; bring up corners of cloth and tie with string to form a bag.
  2. Add spice bag to saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Discard spice bag. Stir before serving. Yield: 3 servings.
