Hand Me Down Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Beat one minute at medium speed.
  4. Combine flour, baking soda and salt.
  5. Add alternately with water to creamed mixture.
  6. Pour batter into two greased and floured 8 pans.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
  8. Cool.
  9. Frost with chocolate frosting.
