Grandma's Fudge Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour (plain )
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 (16 oz) box confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Grease and Flour 13 X 9 pan.
  3. Melt butter in mixing bowl.
  4. Add all other ingredients, mix until incorporated
  5. Spread into pan.
  6. Bake 35 - 40 minutes or until knife inserted 2 from side comes out clean.
  7. While baking, make Frosting:.
  8. Add all ingredients, except milk.
  9. Mix with mixer until smooth, adding milk as needed to consistency desired. Being careful not to make frosting too thin.
  10. Remove cake from oven, use a spatula to press sides down to even cake.
  11. Immediately frost cake.
  12. Allow to cool before serving.
