Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 tbsp ice water

Directions:

  1. Place first 3 ingredients in food processor, and pulse 2 to 3 times. Add shortening, and pulse 6 times or until mixture resembles coarse meal. With processor on, slowly add ice water through food chute, processing just until combined (do not form a ball).
  2. Press mixture gently into a 4-inch circle on heavy-duty plastic wrap, and cover with additional plastic wrap. Roll dough, still covered, into an 11-inch circle; chill for 10 minutes or until plastic wrap can be easily removed. Remove 1 sheet of plastic wrap; fit dough into a 9-inch pie plate coated with cooking spray, and remove top sheet of plastic wrap.
