Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Soak black beans according to directions on package, and simmer in water until tender.
  2. Add oil and garlic to 3 quart pot, and cook just until garlic is soft. Do not let garlic burn.
  3. Add cumin to pot and cook just until fragrant.
  4. Add salsa and simmer slowly for 15 minutes.
  5. Add refried beans and black beans and stir until smooth.
  6. Add water and salt until soup is of desired consistency.
  7. Simmer on low for one hour.
