Ingredients:

  • 1-1/4 cup sifted cake flour
  • 1-1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup soft butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1-1/3 cup flaked coconut

Directions:

  1. Combine 1 cup of the flour and 1/4 cup of the sugar.
  2. Add butter and blend well then press firmly in ungreased square pan.
  3. Bake 15 minutes at 350.
  4. Meanwhile beat eggs until light.
  5. Add 1 cup sugar gradually beating constantly until fluffy.
  6. Sift 1/4 cup flour and baking powder then fold into egg mixture.
  7. Add vanilla, nuts and coconut then mix well.
  8. Spread over baked mixture in pan and bake 25 minutes.
  9. Cool and cut into squares.
