Chicken With Peanut Sauce

Ingredients:

  • for chicken marinade
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 4-5 tsp lemon juice
  • salt - to taste
  • pepper - to taste
  • for peanut sauce
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 pod of garlic
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2-3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1- 2 tbsp sugar
  • salt - to taste
  • 1 jug of water
  • for basting sauce
  • 4 tbsp peanut sauce
  • 3 tbsp soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp oil

Directions:

  1. Marinate the chicken for at least two hours. Then pierce 4-5 pieces of chicken per skewer.
  2. FOR THE PEANUT SAUCE:
  3. Grind the onion, chillies and garlic together.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and saute the onion paste for some time.
  5. Mix in the peanut butter, add salt and sugar and stir.
  6. Pour in water and cook until you get a smooth sauce.
  7. Add lemon juice and switch off the gas.
  8. Mix the peanut sauce with the oil and soya sauce (BASTING SAUCE)
  9. Heat a pan. Place the chicken skewers on it and grill.
  10. When done, cover it with the basting sauce. Let it cook for some more time, till the basting sauce blends into chicken.
  11. Serve hot with peanut sauce.
