Butterscotch Nut Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups sour milk ( add 1 tsp lemon juice or vinegar

Directions:

  1. Beat eggs, sugar, and shortening
  2. Mix together flour, soda, powder and salt
  3. Add to egg mixture alternately with the milk
  4. Add nuts
  5. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans
  6. Bake 350 degrees for 45 minutes
