Apple Sauce Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cup. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 cup. chopped nuts
  • 2/3 cup. brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:

  1. Mix together thoroughly shortening, sugar and eggs.
  2. Stir in applesauce.
  3. Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder, soda, and salt.
  4. Add nuts.
  5. Pour into greased loaf pan.
  6. Bake 50 to 55 minutes in moderate oven 350 degrees.
  7. Yields 1 loaf.
