Apple Praline Dessert Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Set oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease an 8-in square baking pan.
  3. Cream together the 1 cup sugar with the 1/4 cup butter in a bowl.
  4. Add in the egg and apples; mix well.
  5. Sift together the dry ingredients.
  6. Add to creamed mixture; mix well; stir in nuts.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the cake tests done.
  8. FOR SAUCE: Melt the 1/4 cup butter in a saucepan.
  9. Add the cream and mix well until blended.
  10. Combine the sugar and the 1 tbsp flour to the butter/cream mixture; mix well until thickened, over low heat.
  11. Add in vanilla, mix well.
  12. Serve warm over the apple dessert.
