Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven at 350°.
  2. Pare and core the apples.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
  4. Add shortening and milk; mix until smooth.
  5. Put onto a floured surface and divide into six portions.
  6. Roll a large enough portion to cover and apple.
  7. Place an apple on each piece of dough.
  8. Fill the apple with the cinnamon and sugar.
  9. Wet edges of dough and fold it over the apple.
  10. Place on greased baking sheet, and bake for about 40 minutes, or until tender.
