Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour , sifted

Directions:

  1. Cream together butter, sugar, egg yolk, vanilla, and salt.
  2. Add sifted flour.
  3. Spread on greased cookie sheet w/ sides.
  4. Beat egg white and brush on dough.
  5. Place entire package of sliced almonds on top.
  6. Bake at 325 for 30 minutes or until brown.
  7. Cool 15 minute Cut into bars.
