Ingredients:

  • the crust part
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • dash of cinnamon
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups 7-up
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp red hots
  • 1 tbsp good rum
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Directions:

  1. For the Crust:
  2. Mix ,chill,roll,cut into squares.
  3. Place one apple in each squares.
  4. Sprinkle inside the cored apple with cinnamon,nutmeg,sugar,and a pat of butter.
  5. Fold crust over and around apple,pinch to seal.
  6. Place in a 9x12 baking dish.
  7. For the Syrup:
  8. Combine all in a pan,cook until sugar and red hots are dissolved,bring to boil.
  9. Pour over Apple Dumplings,bake in 375 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
  10. ~Nice as they are,cooled a bit out of the oven...but,a scoop of good vanilla ice cream does'nt hurt~
