Tillie's Perfect Cornbread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening

Directions:

  1. Slightly beat eggs and milk.
  2. Add dry ingredients and mix well.
  3. Soften shortening in microwave and add to mixture.
  4. Pour into well greased 9X13 pan and bake at 425 for 20-25 minutes.
